Dr Van Mai

MB. BS (Syd) FRACGP

Dr. Mai graduated from Sydney University in 1992 and has been working in general practice for about 20 years. He has a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRCGP) and is a general practice supervisor for training registrars. Dr. Mai is a very experienced GP and is accredited for Antenatal Shared Care with the hospitals in Central Sydney and Inner West.

Special Interests: General Practice, Antenatal Shared Care, Chronic Disease Management, particularly Diabetes, Skin Cancers and especially Minor Surgical Procedures.

Dr Amal Ibrahim

Dr Ibrahim is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and accredited for Antenatal Shared Care with RPA, Bankstown and Canterbury Hospitals.

Special Interests:  Antenatal Shared Care, Women's Health, paediatrics and family medicine, General Practice, chronic disease management, and minor surgical procedures.

Dr Vani graduated from University of Sydney in 2007. She has gained experience in Respiratory medicine, Cardiology, Renal medicine, Haematology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Paediatrics.  

Special Interests:  Women's Health, paediatrics, and internal medicine.

Dr Mohammad Kbar

MB. BS AMC, FRACGP

Dr Kbar graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine in 1998 in Europe and came to Australia to pursue a career in Medicine. Dr Kbar completed the Australian Medical Council requirements and worked in various hospitals in Sydney undertaking residency training in internal medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry, geriatrics and emergency.  

Dr Kbar was attracted to General Practice and decided to move to rural training in Goulburn. Dr Kbar joined the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and was a Registrar for three years. He graduated as a fellow of the RACGP in 2013 with the support of his family.  

After working as a GP in various medical centres in Sydney, he joined the Chullora Marketplace Medical Centre early this year aspiring to be part of a reputable and hospitable practice offering their services to a multicultural local community. As a multilingual doctor who speaks four languages, it pleases him to be part of a team who supports and provides a continuation of care to a variety of patients. Giving back to the community is what inspired him to become a specialist GP.

Dr Mohammad Aymal

Dr Aymal has Completed an overseas Degree in General Medicine with over six years overseas experience in a hospital setting aspiring to the position of Medical Doctor and Consultant for International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) Karte Se Surgical Hospital. Medically trained to serve in a variety of clinical settings.

Dr Aymal is a Paediatrician with an interest in children with Developmental and Behavioural Disorders. He has paediatric  experienced in the assessment and management of patients with medical, surgical and paediatric conditions, Develop an understanding of the principals of managing the acutely ill patients, Develop an understanding of ethical and legal issues in patient management

Procedure Skills: Suturing and wound care, skin biopsy, Venepuncture, IV Canulation, ABG, Spirometry, Bladder catheterisation,Nasogastric insertion, CPR, Lumbar Puncture , Removal of ingrown toe nail , Removal of tumour and cyst , cryosurgery .

Dr Naglaa (Gigi) Shams

Dr. Naglaa (Gigi) Shams completed her local training as an intern at The Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. Dr. Shams is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP). Since 2007 she has been working full time as a General Practitioner in rural and urban Medical Centres.

Dr Debbie Van

MBBS, Dip. Child Health 

Dr Debbie graduated from UNSW in 2012. She completed her residency at both Bankstown and Campbelltown Hospitals before working in General Practice surgeries across Inner West and South West Sydney. She joined Chullora Marketplace Medical Centre this year and is delighted to build continuing relationships with members of the local community. 

Special Interests: Family medicine, women's health, paediatrics, mental health, chronic disease managment, travel medicine.

Dr Tady Kordian

M.D., AMC, FRACGP, Consultant Gastroenterologist / Hepatologist

Dr Kordian completed his Bachelor of Medicine degree in the Lebanese University and completed the Australian Medical Council’s (AMC) requirements to be registered as a medical practitioner in Australia. He commenced basic physician training in Liverpool Hospital where he spent three years before commencing his gastroenterology advanced training in Campbelltown Hospital. In 2014 he completed his final year of advanced training in gastroenterology. It is worth mentioning that during his final year Dr Kordian did a lot of work on inflammatory bowel disease. He has eight publications in well recognised gastroenterology journals, not only in relation to inflammatory bowel disease but on other topics of general gastroenterology and hepatology.

Lilian Mai

Psychologist, PG Dip Applied Psych (Macquarie University)

Lillian can provide  services in child & adolescents – Behaviour management; anxiety including stress, worry and phobias; depression; school issues; anger management, bullying, social skills/self-esteem, pervasive developmental disorders including autism & asperger’s syndrome and adjustment disorders.  

Lillian can also provide services to adults – depression; anxiety disorders including PTSD, acute stress disorder, generalised anxiety and specific phobias; adjustment disorders; stress management; trauma & abuse; anger management; assertiveness & communication skills; self-esteem; work place issues including bullying; workers compensation (NSW WorkCover); resettlement/transition issues (refugees/immigrants); relationship difficulties, grief and loss.

Treatment modalities include: applied behaviour analysis; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) including exposure therapy; supportive counselling; psycho-education; problem solving; solution focused brief therapy; motivational interviewing; narrative therapy; creative therapies including play and art therapy; skills training such as behaviour management and parent training; and relaxation techniques and strategies.

Christopher Koletti

Psychologist

Christopher is a registered psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Professional Registration Authority). Christopher has an honours degree in Psychology from the University of New South Wales and has been practising as a psychologist in a healthcare, community and clinical setting for over 13 years. Christopher is also an AHPRA supervisor of interns and provisionally registered psychologists. Christopher is also a Work Cover approved provider of psychological treatment.

Christopher provides specialist services in psychotherapy and counselling for a wide range of emotional and behavioural issues including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, weight management, stress management, parenting skills, children's behavioural difficulties, relationship difficulties, grief, self-esteem/self-confidence difficulties and childhood abuse. Christopher employs a wide variety of therapeutic techniques to help people address their issues. The main technique that is employed is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which is widely regarded as the gold standard in psychological treatment by scientific literature. Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT) and family therapy are also employed.

Dietician

Li Li is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (member of the Dietician’s Association of Australia). She has a Bachelor of Medical Science Degree, a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics Degree. Li Li has experiences in a wide range of sectors, including the hospital; community; state government; aged care facilities as well as medical centres.

Li Li is specialising in Chronic Disease Management which includes Diabetes, Hypertension and Hyperlipidaemia. Other areas of proficiency include Weight Management, Malnutrition, Aged Care, Pregnancy nutrition, Paediatric nutrition, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Coeliac Disease and Food Intolerences. She will guide and assist you to achieve your healthy lifestyle or specific health related goals according to your medical and psycho-social needs. Li Li understands the dietary and cultural needs from different cultural backgrounds from her past working experiences.

You will be eligible for Medicare cover if you have a EPC referral for dietitian visits from your GP, or you may be eligible for your private health funds rebate (please check it with your health funds provider).

Mohammad Safi

Podiatrist

Mohammad Safi holds a Bachelor Degree in  Health Science (Podiatry) and was awarded the prize for Top Student in his final year. He is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association NSW and is a registered provider with AHPRA, Medicare and the Department of Veterans Affairs. He has been practicing for more than 14 years as a Podiatrist, working in a variety of settings including Aged Care facilities, Medical Centres and Hospitals based HIgh Risk Foot Clinics.
